Update: Life In Chambana

Life is more relaxed here.

More sun.

More fresh air.

People are friendlier.

Gas is significantly cheaper.

Josh is finally able to fulfill his dream of becoming a teacher.

Perfect view in the mornings.

We're both much, much happier here than we ever were in Virginia.

I feel safer here. Even when Josh is away.

Every time I drive past a cornfield (which is often when you live in a cornfield) "Wide Open Spaces" by The Dixie Chicks plays in my head.

Our life feels more settled here. Maybe it's the laid-back lifestyle or the fact that I know we'll be here for at least 4 years, but it feels concrete - like I'm finally standing on solid ground for the first time in 3 years.

Life in Champaign is one big fresh start for us. And we're taking full advantage of the opportunity.

Glad you are enjoying this opportunity! good luck to your husband as he embarks on his dream of being a teacher. This past week working in an elementary school has taught me a lot about what a wonderful job teaching is. If I wasn't doing speech therapy, I would definitely be a teacher. I hope he likes it!
