Link-Up: The Nail Files

The Nail Files

Happy Thursday!

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki for The Nail Files for the first. time. EVER.

I've been dying to participate in this link-up for quite some time now. Wanna know why I haven't...until now?

I used to be a nail-biter. Yup. Possibly the grossest habit to ever exist.

Until about a month ago, I had bitten my nails every day for 21 years (give or take that year I had no teeth). My parents tried everything to get me to stop. Painting them, using the icky tasting polish, vinegar, gloves, etc. and none of it worked. What can I say? I'm determined. And one day, out of the blue, I looked down at my nails and noticed that they were LONG. Not crazy-lady-trying-to-break-records-long, but longer than I'd ever seen them.

I was shocked at the sight of them, simply because I hadn't been trying to stop biting them at that time. It just happened without me noticing! Josh was so proud of me that he treated me to some new polish. :) Since then I've been painting my nails about once a week, so I thought this would be the perfect chance to join the link-up!

Week 1. Can't remember the 2 polishes, but loved them!
Week 2. {Mary Kay} Cloud Nine & {Mary Kay} Hot Pink.
Week 3.
Josh bought me new polish! {Essie} Blanc & {Nicole} Amethyst Texture.
Week 4. {Spoiled} Tattle Tell.
Week 5. {Sinful Colors} Love Nails & {Sinful Colors} Trash.
Better shot of its true color. Love!
You know what's really cool? I've almost NEVER been proud of myself for anything. But this? I'm totally proud. I'm so proud of my accomplishment that I can't stop looking at my nails, I keep showing them off to Joshie like a little kid going "Look! Look at me!" :) Because of this huge accomplishment (or what's a huge accomplishment for me), I've decided to reward myself with new polish on the regular. A girl can never have too many nail polishes. ;)

Hang in there, gorgeous. It's almost the weekend. :)

I'm proud of you! I know how hard it can be to stop. I was a biter, too. That's why I have to keep my nails painted these days because if they're pretty? I won't mess them up ;)

Congrats! I used to be a pretty bad nail bitter myself. I can honestly say what has helped me is always keeping them painted. I tried that Garlique stuff which was supposed to make them taste bad, didn't work. Invest in a quality base coat that will keep your nails strong and have a fun color on them so you won't want to bite them :)

Congrats, it is something to be proud of! Thankfully I was never a nail biter, but I am a cuticle picker...I try really hard to not do it because its gross but no luck so far :(
