Grown-Up Clothes

Remember last week when I told you all how I'd like to start dressing a bit more grown-up, sophisticated, and well...not bad.

I did something about it.

Yep. Me. The talker, but not the do-er. I went shopping.

My mom and I spent about 5 hours last Friday trying on clothes at Target and Kohls ('cause this girl's on a budget, yo!) and I actually bought things!

My shopping guidelines for this trip?
No new bottoms of any kind until you've lost weight.
No yoga/fitness clothes.
No one item can cost more than $20.
Only buy things you that you wouldn't normally buy or that you absolutely need for work.

So basically...tops.

After burning through $200, I came home with loads of stuff to show Joshua. He would never survive a shopping trip with me, because I only go clothes shopping when I absolutely need something, so i try on everything that fits the parameters...hence the 5 hour trip. So I brought everything that I liked home with me to show him when he returned from Michigan.

After the fashion show on Monday I was left with about half of what I originally bought (he liked more than I thought he would, yippee!), which was the goal, so WIN!

Here's the loot!

Speckled Sweater: Target
Purple Shirt Dress: Kohl's
Gray, White, and Purple T's: Kohl's
Red Embellished Tank: Kohl's
Brown and Cream Camis: Kohl's
Brown and White Lace Tanks: Kohl's

I think this is a great start. I'm on my way to dressing like an adult! :)

Looks like you got some great things! I love shopping at Target & Kohls. Funny you mentioned shopping for 'grown up clothes', I posted something about this last night - I struggle with the same thing. I lost almost 40lbs a few years ago, I found that dresses that tie around the waist worked good while losing weight.
