Addicted to Pinterest & A Challenge

Hi, my name is Meagan...And I'm a Pinterest addict.

There. I said it.

Ever since my bloggy friend, Cindy sent me an invite I've been "pinning" my days away. Every time I get an email from Better Homes & Gardens I have to click through all the pictures to see if there's anything worth pinning. And every time I read a blog post I do the same. Duuuuuuh.

Anyway, since I've been adding so many pins to my boards I've decided to undertake Sherry and Katie's Pinterest Challenge --- Summer Edition. You should watch the video they made. It's pretty darn funny. I pretty much laughed my booty off while the husband rolled his eyes at my guilty pleasures (Pinterest, blogging, and awesome goofy blog ladies).

Essentially, the challenge is to take a break from pinning your Pinterest finds and actually DO something with them. I love this challenge because I pin stuff alllllllllll the time and think, "One day, I'll complete this project or dress this way," so on and so forth. But I don't think I'd actually do anything about this unless someone actually TOLD me to. So I've decided that by the end of the summer (that's like...6 weeks, right?) I will complete at LEAST one of my pins on my Artsy Projects board. Sounds like fun, huh? Maybe you should join in!

If you decide to join the Pinterest Challenge, feel free to let me know! I'd love to see what projects everyone's completing! =)

P.S. If you'd like to follow me on Pinterest, check me out here!

Friday Night Fun

Josh and I had our weekly date night on Wednesday night this week because we thought he'd be on a mission til late tonight. We had a great time at Hana Tokyo, a great hibachi place near our apartment on Wednesday and I planned on spending a relaxing Friday night alone with some chick flicks and nail polish.

Thankfully, those plans changed this morning when Josh found out his mission had been pushed back to next week, so we invited a few friends over and I made some delicious Southwestern Chicken Casserole in the Crock-Pot for dinner.

Now all three guys are hanging out in the living room watching Robo-Cop and having a "power hour" while I teach Cortney how to create and keep up a blog! So we're having quite a bit of fun this Friday night and enjoying good friends!

I'll be back next week with the recipe for Southwestern Chicken Casserole and a few other yummy meals as well as some much-needed apartment, wedding, and honeymoon updates!

Hope you're all enjoying a great start to the weekend! =)

P.S. Check out Cortney's brand new blog, Small Town Simmons'. She's a brand-new blogger, so welcome her to the blogosphere and tell her I sent you. =)

WILW #10

*Sigh* It feels good to be back in the blog world. Let's start this "new beginning" off on the right foot, shall we?

Today, as per my usual, I'm linking up with Jamie over at This Kind Of Love for WILW (I really missed you, WILW. Thanks for taking me back).

Today I'm loving...

*My new job with the munchkins.
*My Crock-Pot.
*Meal planning.
*The feeling of debt sloooowly disintegrating with each monthly payment.
*Putting together photo books on Shutterfly of our wedding and honeymoon pictures.
*My mother's marriage advice.
*A Pinterest Challenge from Katie and Sherry.
*My understanding, patient, hardworking, loving husband. I couldn't enjoy life without him.

{Sorry for not including pictures and links today. It's a very bad day.}

A Fresh Start

For those of you who follow my humble little blog, you know that I've been on a blog sabbatical of sorts for about a month. Originally, the plan was to take a break to figure out what's been keeping me "down" lately, but my blog break has turned into an eye-opening experience for me.

You see, I had been so caught up in planning for our honeymoon and preparing for my new job and taking care of the apartment that I forgot to ENJOY it all. It was all about "perfect" this and "organized" that, but never about "My life is so blessed and I love taking in every moment!".

So I've decided to change things around here (something I do often, I know).

From now on, my blog isn't going to be about being a perfect working housewife with a put-together apartment and 3-course meal on the table every night. It's not going to be about making plans that I never keep or staring at the pile of decor we still have yet to hang on the walls. It's not going to be about having a ridiculously organized life that always goes right.

Instead, this blog is going to be about me. And it's going to be about Josh. And it's going to be about trying recipes that we end up hating, hanging pictures that fall off the wall a week later, being happily exhausted by 2 sweet screaming babies, and everything that comes along with it. From now on, I will no longer try to live the Stepford Wife Life, but my own. I refuse to put myself down because our apartment is still half un-done after 3 months here and I refuse to be disappointed in myself because I haven't cooked a real dinner in a week.

I am imperfect. Some days I run around like a chicken with my head cut off because the laundry's not done and dinner's not ready until 8pm. And that's just life.

I'll admit that I'm jealous of people who seem to have it all together, like Sherry and Jen, and it'd be awesome if I had the time to create a life like that, but I don't. So I'll take what I've got and work with it. I'll enjoy my life and do what I can to enhance the awesomeness that already is. I'll take each day one step at a time and I won't let the chaos get the best of me.
